LAX is a mid-size club with two stories, blending both modern and Golden Age Hollywood vibes and using Gothic accents throughout to create a luxurious venue. Although the trend lately has been more toward several smaller rooms with different types of music playing, LAX is a big, two-story party space.
Once you're through the wrought-iron doors and head upstairs, you'll pass through a dark hallway that empties out into a roundabout room with deep, red accent lighting. From here, you can head to the elegant upper hallway or the grand staircase, which brings you down to the dance floor. The dance floor is a basic affair - a long rectangle tucked between a VIP booth area and the elevated DJ booth and second VIP area, with a bar and another staircase at the far end. You can be fairly up close and personal when celeb guests are in town, or just hang to the side at the bar - either way, you've got a pretty good view of the rest of the club and opportunity to hear some of the best hip hop, Top 40 and electronic music your ears can handle.
A balcony-style second floor overlooks the dance floor and DJ booth below. Mirrors and chandeliers highlight the dimly-lit hallway connecting the private table areas, which feature booth seating made of red leather and curtains. Head all the way through the hallway and you'll find yourself at a second bar and with just enough space for dancing and hanging out. If it gets packed, you can always head down that second staircase to the first floor. With these features, it comes as no surprise LAX has seen recent guests like Ice-T, Ginuwine and Snooki of "Jersey Shore" fame.
